Programme Brief

Identifying the factors that lead to student success has for long been a question that is often researched and asked. In the past, student success was determined 100% based on examination results that were more on the ability to memorise information rather than apply the information and learning. Today application of knowledge is key to success.

Learners from different generations of learners (Gen -X to Gen Z and Millennials) are motivated by different elements of success as they define what success means to them. While achieving outstanding examination and academic results still is the ultimate goal, the methods used to get there are very different today.

Learners today need more autonomy, freedom in deciding their own future and self-directed accountability. All this in a nutshell goes to show that today’s learners want to be independent and responsible for their learning, rather than to be told what to learn and how to learn.

Self-directed learning leads to self-motivated and driven students that are sure of themselves and what they can do in the future. This has been clearly visible in the many years of experience we have dealing with University & College students who often come into the higher education system without a grasp of who they are and how they are wired in terms of their learning.

Every individual is created uniquely and each individual learner’s brain processes information/ stimuli received differently. This influences the way in which information is received, processed, stored and applied by the learners. Using methods or techniques that do not suit the individual learner will result in learners having difficulty processing and understanding information. Leading to unsatisfactory exam results, frustration, demotivation and eventually the belief that they are not successful academically.

Thus, allowing each individual learner to understand how they best process information and data is crucial to ensure that the maximum potential of each student is reached.

The trainers at EJ Dynamics Learning Academy have close to 10 years’ experience in dealing with the research and implementation of new learning techniques and methods that are more suitable for today’s learners. We have coached thousands of students in the past 10 years in academic excellence and life skills development.

With this, our aim is to ‘Empower People Potential’ by allowing individuals to understand themselves first and then come up with appropriate strategies that suit individual learners’ abilities and learning orientation. Many secondary school teachers from various schools in the Klang valley have also been trained by our trainers in this area.

Our program will allow learners to ask the most basic fundamental question in learning, and by the end of each session, the answer will be clear to them in the form of practical and immediately implementable strategies and methods that will bring them closer to achieving ‘Student Success’ in this era of life-long learning.

Each session will start with an exciting ‘Energizer’ Activity to boost up student’s motivation and concentration during the sessions.

Part A (Self- Discovery)

HOW DO I BEST PROCESS INFORMATION?

Learning Outcome
  • To allow learners to understand how they best process information and what are their learning styles, learning preferences, ideal learning conditions, and preferred learning modes.

Then, from there we move on to…

WHAT STUDY/ LEARNING METHOD SUITS ME BEST?

Learning Outcomes
  • Allow learners with similar learning styles, preference, conditions and modes to share common strategies used to learn.
  • To allow learners to explore and understand different learning strategies and know which strategies suit them better and what strategies will not be as effective.

But don’t leave it at that…

HOW CAN I IMPLEMENT THESE METHODS INTO MY CURRENT LEARNING IN AND OUT OF THE CLASSROOM?

Learning Outcomes
  • Equip learners with simple ways in which these new strategies can be implemented into daily learning in the classroom and during self-study or revision outside the classroom.

Don’t stop yet…

ARE THESE NEW METHODS REALLY WORKING? WHAT IS WORKING AND WHAT IS NOT?

Learning Outcomes
  • To empower learners with the ability to reflect and think critically about their learning and constantly evaluate and assess their learning effectiveness over time.

Part B (Self- Management)

Now that I know how best to learn,

HOW DO I MANAGE MY MYSELF AND MY TIME?

Learning Outcomes
  • To empower learners with the ability to understand their own learning needs and manage their time according to priorities.
  • To create a simple Personal Development Plan by allowing them to have goals and a mission in life.

and,

HOW DO I KEEP MYSELF MOTIVATED AND PICK MYSELF UP WHEN TIMES GET TOUGH?

Learning Outcomes
  • To empower learners with the ability to understand themselves in terms of what motivates them.
  • To equip learners with self-motivational and resilience strategies
